About

I’m an Ohio-based illustrator inspired by comics, sports, and storytelling.
I grew up on a farm as a massive comic book fan, especially DC and Batman. After seeing Batman 1989 as a kid, I was hooked. From then on, all I wanted to do was either be Batman or draw him. I’ve been sketching the character since I was 3, and like a lot of 90s kids, my sketchbooks quickly filled with Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I’m especially drawn to the look and feel of 70s and 80s comics. Artists like Jack Kirby, Alex Toth, Frank Miller, Steve Rude, and David Mazzucchelli have had a huge influence on my work, along with Mike Mignola, Bruce Timm, and Darwyn Cooke.
I got my first art job at 15 drawing caricatures at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. That experience taught me how to draw quickly and confidently—something I still consider one of my strongest skills.
Outside of comics, I’m a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. I’ve always seen athletes as real-life superheroes, and that idea continues to inspire my work.
When I’m not drawing, I’m usually spending time with my wife and kids, cooking, training boxing, or listening to guitar-driven music.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to look at my art. I truly appreciate it!
